The Principles of Transparency for Political Advertising

This guide explains how the DAAC’s Self-Regulatory Principles of Transparency apply to political advertising online.

Implementation Guideline

Under the DAAC’s Political Ads Program, the Political Ad icon and/or wording should be used to provide clear, meaningful, and prominent notice that an ad is a political advertisement, with information about who delivered that ad just a hover, click, or tap away.

Consistent and proper use of the Political Ad icon (also called the Ad Marker) reinforces user-friendly transparency for political advertising.
